Wilson-Cook Medical Introduces FUSION™ Line of Biliary Duct
Accessories With IDE™ Technology

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Wilson-Cook Medical has introduced its new line of FUSION™ biliary accessories that combine the proven results of traditional long-wire ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) techniques with Wilson-Cook's powerful new Intra-Ductal Exchange™ (IDE™) technology to redefine the future of endoscopic procedures.

Fusion's industry-leading Intra-Ductal Exchange technology allows the wire guide to disengage from the device within the ductal system, permitting device withdrawal and exchange while allowing the operator to maintain complete control of the wire at all times.

"IDE technology is a revolutionary concept," said Barry Slowey, vice president of global sales and marketing for Wilson-Cook. "It gives the physician more control during a procedure than was ever before possible. This means that ERCP procedures can be done, in some cases, with fewer procedural steps, which could potentially reduce risks to the patient."

The use of an ultra-short, 185-cm Fusion wire guide adds to procedural control while increasing efficiency. Fusion also adds even more flexibility with its built-in, fully functional, long-wire-guide lumen that permits traditional long-wire exchange. "With its capability to clinically provide the best of both worlds, Fusion promises to be the power behind endoscopic procedures for the future," Slowey said.
