Cohen Tip Deflecting Endobronchial Blocker Available From Cook Critical Care

Bloomington, Ind. - The new Cohen Tip Deflecting Endobronchial Blocker from Cook Incorporated's Critical Care division allows anesthesiologists to establish single-lung ventilation easily by directing its unique deflecting tip left or right into the desired bronchial passage. The blocker also can move easily from one lung to another. The Cohen Blocker allows the use of a standard endotracheal tube that may eliminate patient trauma and procedural delays associated with reintubation.

A high-traction silicone grip on the introducer shaft provides precision control to manually torque the device for delicate airway placement. No other bronchial blocker compares with the Cohen Blocker's innovative design and unrivaled versatility.

The Cohen's Blocker's small outer diameter requires the use of an endoscope only to visually assure placement, preserving maximum airway volume for enhanced patient ventilation throughout the procedure. An exclusive indicator arrow provides visual confirmation of the selected direction, ensuring fail-safe access to the desired lung. Markings on the introducer also show how far the Cohen Blocker has been advanced into the patient's airway.
