Andy Cron Named Vice President of Cook Incorporated's Surgical Division

Bloomington, Ind. - Andy Cron, a 16-year veteran of Cook Incorporated, has been named vice president of the company's rapidly growing surgical division, Cook Surgical. In his new position, Cron will oversee sales and marketing efforts for the division's surgical devices and its expanding line of tissue engineered medical products made from Cook's patented SIS biomaterial.

Hired initially as a Cook Critical Care division sales representative for the Louisville area, Cron, 40, accepted the job of marketing manager for Cook Critical Care and Cook Surgical in 1996 and relocated to Bloomington. In 1999, Cook Surgical's product line was expanded to include medical devices incorporating Cook Biotech's small intestinal submucosa (SIS) biomaterial, and Cron was named general manager. He lives in Bloomington with his wife and three children.

"Andy's vast knowledge of this product line and his proven ability to lead this strategic business unit will certainly enhance Cook Surgical's success as he assumes these important new responsibilities," said Kem Hawkins, president and CEO of Cook Incorporated.

"The opportunities for Cook to introduce advanced tissue engineered medical products into nearly every medical discipline and continue our history of medical technology breakthroughs make this one of the most exciting times in the history of our company," said Cron, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Indiana University School of Business. "I'm thrilled and honored that the management of Cook Incorporated has entrusted me with this enormous responsibility."
